Mahjong Wins Super Scatter: Slot Verdict
Asian-themed slots, mahjong-themed ones at that, generally catch the eye of specific sorts of gamblers. What’s more universal, though, is hunting for big winning potential, and Mahjong Wins Super Scatter certainly has that. With a 100,000x win cap, Mahjong Wins Super Scatter sits snugly at the upper echelon of potentially big win slots. This figure was surprising in some way, yet not as great a shocker as it might have been. One reason for the middling response is that other slots in Pragmatic Pay’s Mahjong Wins series boast the same figure, Mahjong Wins 2, for example, though how players might achieve that amount in the earlier game is open for debate.
Mahjong Wins Super Scatter’s path to top win is clearer. Just hit 4 super scatters; job done. In theory. We’ve seen the Super Scatter feature before, too. Pragmatic Play dropped it in Gates of Olympus Super Scatter, which boasted a 50,000x cap that seemed big at the time but now seems somewhat diminished compared to Mahjong Wins Super Scatter’s ludicrous number. Since only a relatively small group of gamblers are ever going to win amounts of that size, if any end up doing so, how does the rest of Mahjong Wins Super Scatter fare? Well, the gameplay isn’t as mind-bending as the win cap. Tumbles and a rising yet restricted win multiplier give the game a Gonzo’s Quest feel, while golden symbols thrown in there to transform into wilds are no bad thing.
Pragmatic Play obviously thinks so since these sorts of features have appeared in practically every other Mahjong Wins game it’s released. This includes Mahjong Wins 3 Black Scatter, which is almost identical to Mahjong Wins Super Scatter. Two slots so close together might seem superfluous, but this re-released Super Scatter variant was presumably done to team up with Gates of Olympus Super Scatter and the upcoming Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter in an attempt to create bigger waves throughout the gambling community. Just might work, too.
