4 FOXX Crew: Slot Overview
Never mind the 2018 Coincheck hack or the raid on Banco Central in 2005; apparently, the ‘heist of the century’ is about to take place in provider Yggdrasil‘s online slot 4 FOXX Crew. As well as starring law-abiding and law-breaking animals of various species, this is a crime game that continues the studio’s MultiMax range, joining slots like Monkeys Go Bananas and Shadow Raiders designed by Yggdrasil itself and partners. 4 FOXX Crew is a cluster pays version of the reel multiplier feature provided by MultiMax and offers side extras such as instant cash bounties, non-winning spin features, and more.
A warm, blue-skied, palm-treed, urban setting is where the heist of the century is about to go down. At a guess, if you had to give the town a name, Los Angeles comes to mind, which, according to the Keanu Reeves classic surfer flick Point Break, was, for a time, the bank robbery capital of the world. In fact, it’s been said that in the 1980s, a bank in LA was robbed every hour of every day. Not, however, by a crew of animals, as it is in 4 FOXX Crew, where even the police are played by roosters rather than people, and as often when animals step in for criminals in slots, the mood is significantly lightened.

4 FOXX Crew is a cluster pays slot, which means 5 or more matching symbols must be connected horizontally or vertically to each other in a cluster to create a winning combination. After any win, the winning symbols are removed from the grid, making space for symbols to drop down, fill the gaps, and create the chance of landing even more wins. Highly volatile and available at two RTP levels, the highest theoretical return value is 94%. The gaming area is 6×6 in size, and players may wager 10 c to $/€50 each time they hit the spin button. Golden Bets may also be activated. At 1.2x the bet, players can increase the chance of triggering free spins or at 1.5x the bet, special wilds are guaranteed on each Avalanche. Only one Golden Bet may be active at once.
The game’s paytable lists rings, watches, gems, another gem item, and four foxy character high pays – Mr Blue, Mr Green, Mr Purple, and Mr Red as its regular pay symbols. Clusters of 5 matching symbols in size are worth 0.1x to 1x the bet, while clusters of 14+ in size pay 2.5x to 6.5x the bet.
4 FOXX Crew: Slot Features

4 FOXX Crew’s swag bag of tricks includes a variety of wilds, multipliers, free spins, non-winning spin features, and bonus buys.
Wilds and Multipliers
Whenever an Avalanche win occurs, a randomly selected wild is added to one of the winning positions before symbols drop down to fill the vacant spaces. Above each reel is a multiplier that starts on x1. Each time a wild spawns on a reel, it increases the reel’s multiplier by +1 for the current Avalanche session. Multipliers reset in the base game after a losing spin or Avalanche.
Wild symbols substitute for all symbols except scatters, and there are three different types of them. WildEnergy Wilds have 2, 3 or 4 lives, so they can participate in a number of wins equal to their lives before being destroyed, or they are removed when an Avalanche sequence ends. Extra Multiplier Wilds add x2 to x50 to their reel multiplier, while regular wilds have no extra special ability.
Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 scatters in the base game awards players 7, 9, or 11 free spins, respectively. Here, multipliers do not reset till the round ends. After triggering a free spins session, players have the option of gambling for 2 more spins (if they initially won 7 or 9) up to 11. Losing the gamble means the entire free spins session is lost.
FOXX Bounty
High-paying symbols may land with a sub-symbol overlaid on them. Each time a sub-symbol is collected, there is a chance it awards a FOXX Bounty of 15x, 25x, 500x or 1,000x the bet in value.
Non-Winning Spin Features
On non-winning spins, there is a random chance one of these features triggers:
- Swat Strike – turns a random number of non-winning symbols into symbols that form wins.
- Gold Egg Dash – turns random non-winning symbols in a row into symbols that form winning combinations.
- Big Bang – turns random non-winning symbols in a 2×2 formation into symbols that form a winning combination.
Bonus Buy
For 100x the bet, players may buy a random number of free spins, or for 200x the bet, they can buy the maximum number of free spins.

4 FOXX Crew: Slot Verdict
Has Yggdrasil Gaming just about run out of wild new ideas? Only asking because, hot on the heels of two reskin reviews, 4 FOXX Crew operated rather closely to MexoMax and Rock Star Santa. Sure, the topics are very different, and a number of side features are as well, but the bones of the game remain. That is, cluster wins spawning a wild in an empty space, increasing the reel multiplier above it – the MultiMax engine, in other words. In its defence, it is pretty neat in a cluster pays slot to be able to load multipliers on individual reels, which can be used to boost wins. Better than the original MultiFly? Maybe not, but adding another cluster-paying alternative is no bad thing.
Getting a good consecutive cluster sequence rolling, thereby growing reel multipliers in the base game, proved to be challenging, so having free spins with their progressive multipliers is a positive thing to look forward to. You can get a taste in the base game, before losing symbols fill the grid to snatch progress away. On that note, having non-winning spin features at hand (on loan from Lucky Apocalypse and Lucky Ryan Gigablox) to potentially keep the ball rolling along is another one of 4 FOXX Crew’s positive aspects. Rolling and multiplying is the way, too, because cluster win values aren’t exactly super lucrative on their own. Despite that, 4 FOXX Crew has a 10,000x max multiplier, mirroring others in the MultiMax range.
So, whilst a pretty decent game in the end, 4 FOXX Crew might have made more of an impact had the features been a shade more innovative, but never mind, what’s here makes for a solid enough cluster paying addition to the collection of MultiMax slots, albeit one with the lowest max RTP than its siblings.
